This book was nominated last year and didn't make the list. I read it and
was quite taken with the story. The young woman who gets a job taking care
of a quadriplegic man is portrayed as a very real person. He is, too. They
are both from different classes and cultures. The language is very simple
but very observant of human nature. I learned a lot about caretaking,
besides becoming involved in each person's evolving understanding of their
life. It all felt right and it would make a good discussion.
