Review From:  GoodReads

The author delves into the lives of ordinary workers in her character driven stories about the people who make our lives run avery day and whom we seldom see or think about. Each chapter focuses on a different industry including: coal miners in Ohio, an Alaskan oil rig, a migrant labor camp in Maine, air traffic control center at LaGuardia Airport, a beef ranch in Texas, a landfill in California, a female long-haul trucker in Iowa, a gun shop in Arizona, and Cincinnati Ben-Gals cheerleaders. Each of these profiles offers an enlightening and often poignant glimpse into occupations about which we know little.
