Both the Senior Center and Mitchell Park are valued resources in our community. However the proposal of adding 16 parking spots for the Senior Center is detrimental to the value of the of the park. In addition the idea of promoting the use of individual cars over the already available city transit services is contrary to good environmental planning. I urge the City Council not to support the parking lot proposal.
